 Born and raised in Bamberg, Germany, as Heike Angelika Mehrens.
She has been painting since early childhood, and growing up in Europe has always been inspiration for her Art.
As an art major , Angelika moved in her early twenties to Madrid , Spain where she studied Graphic Design and worked in the fashion Industry.
However the computers could not substitute real colors and paper, and she started painting again "on the side" as a self-taught artist.
"The Bigger the Canvas the better", was her Motto.
Eventually she also started Murals as she loves to paint on big spaces.
Having travelled around the Globe to places like Africa, Australia, Thailand, Mexico etc. and finally landing in the U.S . 13 years ago, changed her lifestyle and her artistic inspirations extremly.
"My inspirations in my Art come from pure Nature. I love Nature and the "rawness" of it , the muted colors of certain earth structures, the space in the ocean and sky, the rain, the dirt,
the dessert , rocks and water, you name it...."
Today , Angelika resides with her husband form New Zealand and her two children in Los Angeles , California, working from her homebased Studio shipping to customers arround the world her paintings.
Angelika has also been a member of 'Artist for Human Rights ' since 2007, she is presented by several local Los Angeles Art Galleries.
"I found the joy of creating in my life, and making it go right to be a Mom, wife, Artist, and Owner of a business can be quiet a challenge , but the rewards are endless..."
