 Melanie Elliott is a member of a family of exceptional artists. She is a native of Bridgewater, Nova Scotia, Canada and currently resides in the province's capital of Halifax.
In 1993 Ms. Elliott, a former health-care professional, honored her life-long ambition to develop her artistic talents. Leaving a twenty-year career behind she began her journey as an artist in British Columbia, Canada. In the early stages of her artistic endeavors her progress was interrupted by illness and resulting disabilities.
Determined to continue her quest, Melanie returned to her roots in Nova Scotia and successfully overcame the physical and cognitive limitations that presented barriers to her creative potential.
Today, Melanie effectively exercises her unique artistic gifts and passionately captures images of nature in watercolor. Her enduring style, delicate transparencies, and lively atmospherics evoke an awareness to the sensitive balance in nature and environment.
Her art is represented in several private and corporate collections in Canada, Denmark, Britain, New Zealand and the United States. |
