Biography
Myra ReneeMyra Renee Dwyer’s love of art was evident when as a high school student she won first place in a local art contest. Her artistic potential was apparent even as a child. She dreamed of becoming an artist but decided to get married and attended Western Kentucky University in the business field. Dwyer raised two daughters and did not pursue her artistic talents again until 2006.

After two years of personal coaching, she found her passion again in painting. Dwyer started individual classes with some well-known local artists. The instructors taught her some different techniques and inspired her to continue developing her talents. She welcomed bright beautiful colors back into her life. After donating a painting to a Safe House, Dwyer was told that her work is inspiring and has brightened up lives of those who have experienced trauma and fear. At a gallery show, a well-known collector stated, "The other artists have nothing on her, she is a good as they are."

Largely self-taught, her style varies from child like whimsical to more serious portraits. Dwyer has tapped into her inner core to develop her own unique styles of painting. Her approach to life and strong spiritual beliefs flow through her work. The artist's paintings reflect a wide range of inspirations and influences.

Myra has been commissioned to paint many watercolors and oil paintings and has sold her artwork to private collectors. Her art is becoming well known in the area. She paints Native KY flowers and has the pictures printed into greeting cards. They can be purchased at local specialty gift shops in and near Bowling Green, KY.

Artists’ Statement:
“What I like about creating a painting is that I start with a blank canvas and do what no one else can do. I alone get to interpret my ideas, visions and dreams by putting the brush to the canvas. To me this is my ultimate passion."
