	Tattoo Nancy Bossert "Tattoo" is a mixed media fine art piece on archival/acid free watercolor paper. The full sheet of paper measures 30" x 22 1/2" and reveals my staple marks from the stretching process. The subject matter is that of a young girl in her blue jean shorts, and as I so often do, I incorporate the collaged surface to become part of the positive image. The green collaged paper surface is used as a base for her entire figure, yet it has little work done over it for her shirt. The title "Tattoo" comes into play as I work my medium over the surface you still have some of the pattern of the papers revealing on her flesh areas as well as her shorts for an interesting look. Here I have used the full sheet of paper, which could be exposed through the opening of a mat. However, I feel that the more appropriate location to frame would be to crop in on the subject, with an opening mat area of approximately 24" x 14". I would rather leave the paper intact, and allow the collector to decide whether or not to reveal the entire sheet. Using the entire sheet of paper would make this a very large fine art piece with matting and framing!
