Origa (Olga Hooper)Origa is a pen/artistic name of Olga Hooper. She is a sumi-e artist and a haiku writer, ikebana artist, and she also paints on ceramic. The latest exhibition Origa participated in, was "Issa and world fellows" in Giken Gallery, at the NHK (Japanese Broadcast Corporation) in Tokyo, Japan.

Origa was born in Siberia, Russia, and now lives in Michigan, USA. She is an artist-member of the Shiawassee Arts Council (Michigan). Her paintings have been exhibited in Japanese Broadcast Corporation's Giken gallery in Tokyo, Japan; in the Shiawassee Art Center gallery; in the 8th Annual Painting, Dwawing, & Print Juried International Online Art Exhibition (Nebraska, USA); and in sevearl art festivals in Michigan.

Her original sumi-e and prints are in private collections in USA, Russia, France, Australia, New Zealand, Poland, India, Uruguay, Japan, England, Canada, Romania, Ukraine, Slovenia, Bulgaria, Kenia, Italy, Brazil, Israel.

Original painting/haiga "Early spring" on a shiki-shi board is in the collection of The Japanese Consul General in Boston, Massachusetts, USA.

A print of Origa's haiga "Curious Squirrel" is in the Museum of Art in Constantza, Romania.

Origa's sumi-e were used as cover and illustrations in different haiku magazinesand anthologies; she is artist in residence in the "Moonset. The newspaper" (Japanese short forms international printed publication).
