 Perry J Locke is a native Flordian with a passion for photography.
The abundance of wetlands, woodlands and wildlife within Florida provide him many opportunities to pursue his passions.
While growing up, he could be found camping, horseback riding and swimming with family and friends, where he gained a great appreciation for the enviroment.
For as long as he can remember he has been aware of the enviroment and the beauty it provides us.
"Unfortunately! I am aware that our enviroment is changing very quickly.
Photography provides me a way to communicate the magnicfance of nature and what it has to offer us and to create in a small part a sense of urgency to maintain our enviroments well being."
Perry is continually exploring the median of photography, to express his vision of the world and the beauty with-in it.
He has studied with Gary Burdett of Gary Budett Photography and has taken several courses to improve his Photo Shop skills.
Perry enjoys meeting, talking and shooting with other photographers, with the same aspirations as he, with the hopes of gaining new insights in his chosen art form.
"I enjoy the whole process of photography, from scouting new locations to arising early in the morning to capturing that special moment when the light, the tones and shapes are just right and everything seems to come together. It gives me a great feeling of satisfaction to be in that moment.
I am continually observing my surroundings, whether it is a deer with its fawn crossing a field or a small flower on the side of road. Planning! for that moment when Mother Nature decides to smile upon me and let me have that moment again.
It is my hope to convey that moment to you, the viewer fo my photographs."
Perry's work has appeared in calendars and many of his photographs are in private collections.
Mr. Locke's work is on display at Frames of Mind Art Gallery in Englewood Fl, and also the Elizbeth Bryant Art Gallery in Englewood, Fl.
