Spring is Still Not Here
Heywood & Donna's St...
Organic colors - redish browns, greens & yellows - rocklike shapes represent enormous growth potential, seeds, under layers and layers of dirt and above that, water and sky with levels of seasons - elements of time. I started with dribbles of very wet paint washes on the upper half and then the big seeds and then filled in empty spots with greens, browns, and in the upper area, blues for water and sky. And though I know that spring will come, I'm cold - so cold. March 21st was the first day of spring, delightful and warm. Since then, snow, a hard cold wind, and my feet want to walk to Arizona and hang out in the sun. This is not for sale because it's on an inferior canvas and I'm sorry I painted on it even though it was free. I won't do this again.
