An allegory of childhood - for a thoughtful or adventurous child's bedroom wall. Two inch wide gallery wrapped canvas with painted sides makes a frame unnecessary.
I began painting these three faces of my childhood using the views in photos of my great niece in a floppy straw hat. The girl on the left is the conscience - the watchful one who always warns of consequences - she also is a chronic tattle-tale. The middle one is the adventurous one who knows it's easier to get forgiveness than permission. And the girl on the right is the follower - she's in, or not, depending on the weather. All are aspects of myself, even today -
Most of Heywood's paintings are in a small gallery in Burley, Idaho and can be seen at almost any time by appointment - e-mail the artist at ppgfh@hotmail.com
