Rocky Mountain Springtime
Heywood & Donna's St...
This large painting is 45" x 48" and hangs on the entry wall of my gallery. I hate the cold, but I love the mountains in the winter even when winter lasts well into April or May. Living out here in the west, I often think how recently there were no heated SUV's or four wheel drive. Even now, some work is only done on horse back when the motor bikes won't get through the mud and ice. Who knows what this cowboy is doing or where he's going? The painting is done with a palette knife using "water-or-oil-mix" oil paints mixed with linseed oil on a large masonite panel with the painting moving out onto the frame. This painting is much larger than it appears here.
Most of Heywood's paintings are in a small gallery in Burley, Idaho and can be seen at almost any time by appointment - email the artist at ppgfh@hotmail.com or respond through this website.
