 Robert Maestas is originally from Espanola, NM but now resides in Lakewood, CO a suburb of Denver. Mr. Maestas is a veteran of the US Armed Forces and served aboard the aircraft carrier USS America for three years in the early seventies.
Mr. Maestas is a self taught Digital Artist and has been creating his art compositions for over 10 years. It would be safe to say it is life’s trials and tribulations that have contributed heavily to the creation of his compositions. As life and moods change, so do the compositions. Mr. Maestas is a member of the Chicano Humanities & Arts Council (CHAC), Denver, CO.
“Huge strides in technology have paved the way for a whole new art form. In the conventional form, creativity manifests itself through the paint and the brush while today, in this age of technological revolution, it also happens through the mouse, other tools, and software. That’s what digital art is all about. Thus art has undergone a total metamorphosis and has evolved over the years. Each era has seen the evolution of a new art form and now being in the Silicon Age we are experiencing what is called Digital Art.” Creativity knows no bounds and there could be no better way of expressing it than through Digital Art, the art of the millennium. The creative mind is the same, the means are just different.”
