Soul$ & Heart$, (are My 2 Kids, My Life)
My Inspiration for My Paintings, so i say...
Sure to touch your Heart & Soul...
That's Me in a Nutshell...
Hello,
I am Rukshana Hooda, a visual artist.... a simple down to earth, sensitive, human-being, in love with nature, I love to paint with acrylics, charcoals, on canvas, thick cartridge, teak, fabric, create texture through various interesting mediums ~ I can always admire everything in nature, its funny but the simple things always fascinated me, like the birds chirping, the sunrise , sunset, the skies with those wonderful hues, the trees, the horizon, & this is so true, "We all live under the same sky, but our horizons differ..."
I am from India, & Passed out doing Fine Arts, as a Textile Designer from Sir J.J. School Of Art & Sophia College Mumbai. I simply love & adore the people here, their simplicity, their daily chores, the village life, all this has played an important role in my thinking, my paintings, my lifestyle, I would love to work & help them, when traveling how I love to listen to these common ppl., their life, their thoughts, their vision, (again which is so simple....!)
My Genre, is Very Varied, From Abstracts, Landscapes, Charcoals, Moghal-Art, Human forms, Warli, History, & always inspired by Nature around me, its beauty, its serenity, solitude is sometimes Heavenly to me....
Nature in its own self has always stayed absorbed in my expression. Human forms, stones, clouds and landscapes with types of vegetation take transformation on paper, plates, canvas, marine-ply, teak, etc. Beauty has no form still I try to capture & create on my canvas.... have been painting and drawing for as long as I can remember, but employment in a totally unrelated field caused me to give up doing any form of artwork for many years. I was a Front office receptionist in a Five star hotel, then worked as an honorary teacher in an orphanage, conducted classes for art, craft, and calligraphy, did a bit of social service…
In recent times I re-kindled my interest in art, and, inspired by friends and family, I decided to showcase some of my works online.
Painting is something I must do, and it is a major part of my life. I love flowers and abstract art Charcoal etches & hopefully my artwork speaks for itself.
Before i found my own small space in the world of canvas and colours i had worked for Resham Creations as a Designer, freelanced with Laxmi Vishnu & as an honorary Teacher for Art/Craft/Calligraphy with The Fidai Institute, conducted classes for students for The Elementary & Intermediate Art Exams, & Was a Front Office Receptionist with a five star Hotel Searock.
TO SIR WITH LOVE ~ My Painting “The Gurukul” Dedicated to my Teachers who changed my Life, What they taught me & What I Learn’t ~
We are learning everyday, & hopefully till the last breath…!!! Life is like a River, Life itself is a challenge, Life is knowledge, Life is a Teacher, Life is Love, i love challenges, sometimes, i wonder how boring it would be if everything always went right, we have nothing to look forward to, to work for, nothing to do, nothing to aim for, nothing to wish for.....
I love LIFE, It is beautiful, the toughness of it makes you, though maybe some feel it breaks you, actually, i feel, LIFE shows us different roads, one more brighter than the other, new, mysterious, Adventurous, however narrow or steep, nonetheless, something to learn from, something that changes you, & change is compulsory, a necessity, inevitable…..These are my thoughts, my vision & This again is something I try to capture, on canvas…..!
Art is to be cherished, its creative, like writing a book, like how an orator talks, a writer uses the Pen…The artist paints…each one speak volumes about their own field.. Love for beauty is Taste. Creation of beauty is Art. Creativity is...seeing something that doesn't already exist,
"I feel very blessed to have this opportunity to express myself through paintings. I love it when people say my artwork enhances their lives.” I have been wondering if programmed thinking and focus on control prevents one from reaching their soul,as my best paintings are created when I allowed my hands,my mind, my thoughts, to flow freely. I hope that my work touches your mind, heart and soul.
