 Shariyah Garner is an artist and fashion designer who previously lived and worked in Los Angeles, California. Having recently moved her studio to New Zealand, Shariyah is focusing on portraiture capturing intimate daily moments of life with a sophisticated and rich color palette evoking light and texture. Her recent works have an Italian Renaissance motif that have drawn particular attention.
Coming from a family of artists, and having drawn, painted, and created since she was a child, the works of art by Shariyah resemble someone with a solid level of formal training yet she has none. Her passion and love for the arts is as awe inspiring as it is evident.
Shariyah says "I believe great emotion can be conveyed in a simple gesture or look. Painting is my outlet. I hope through my work I create images people can relate to, and see beauty in."
Shariyah's work is currently on exhibit at Te Tahi gallery in Oneroa, Waiheke Island. |
