I buy the models off eBay and from yard sales. As a kid I always wanted cool looking Aurora monster models. I use Acrylic pants, ink pens, and color pencils to achieve great effects on the face. I hope to add “The WITCH” model someday to the collection. Thrity hours was spent on this model built in 2003. © S.M.A.C. 2009 (circa 1961) HOW TO RESTORE A VINTAGE AURORA MONSTER MODEL 1.BUY YOUR MODEL MINT IN THE BOX OR A BUILT UP. 2.IF MODEL IS PAINTED REMOVE AS MUCH OF THE PAINT THAT YOU CAN. BRAKE FLIUD WORKS WELL OR OVEN CLEANER. 3.CAREFULLY TAKE AS MUCH OR THE MODEL APART. IF SOME PARTS WON’T COME APART IT IS OK. 4.FILL AND SAND SEAMS ON THE MODEL, TAKE YOUR TIME. 5.RE-GLUE THE MODEL. PLACE MODEL ON BASE AND GLUE. 6.WASH MODEL CAREFULLLY WITH SOFT WAS CLOTH, LIGHT SOAP. LET AIR DRY. 7.SPRAY PRIMER GRAY WHOLE MODEL, TRY NOT TO TOUCH THE MODEL BEFORE PRIMER OR AFTER. LET IT DRY FOR A FEW DAYS. 8.PAINT BASE COATS DARK COLORS ACRYLIC PAINTS LET DRY. 9.DRY BRUSH MEDUIM COLORS ACRYLIC PAINTS. 10.DRY BRUSH LIGHT COLORS ACRYLIC COLORS. 11.AFTER MODEL IS PAINTED LET THE PAINT SET UP FOR ABOUT A WEEK. 12.SPRAY MODEL WITH DULL COAT OR UV FIX. 13.DUST A SPRAY MODEL ABOUT EVERY SIX MONTHS.
