A character from an old Greek play, a teenage girl forced to live with her mother and stepfather after they murdered her father. She yearns for the day her elder brother will return to do justice and vengeance for them both.
The rectangles indicate, of course, her mouth with the solid block of truth she speaks. But they are as well her father's tomb, which she tends with great piety, and the house where she is imprisoned, and the city whose laws constrict around her and no doubt the whole labyrinth which life can become. They are the place from which she speaks.
