Porsche, Le Vieux Cat

These colorful and whimsical paintings of my favorite animals are produced by a method of pouring very saturated watercolor onto the paper and letting it flow until I'm happy with the colors and movement. Then I add a few details to bring out the animal in the wash resulting in these very fun images. The joy I had in creating these shines through to all that see them.
Porsche, is the resident cat of Le Vieux Couvant in Frassinett, France. We first met in 2003 and her owners warned us to keep our windows and doors closed unless we wanted a visit by Porsche. I really didn't want Porsche sleeping on my head so I closed my window at night. I soon learned Porsched was very adept at opening the ancient windows as she banged on my window at night until she got in. I finally decided to leave the window open and let her enter without a bang. We cohabited very well after that.
