Venice at Winter
The Ran Collection
Unforgettable panorama of the Grand Canal, Venice, Italy. As other paintings of Old Europe series, "Venice at Winter" was created in plain-air technique; the artist spent early hours, when the streets of Venice are still empty, enjoying the view and drawing skethes with ink. Later it appeared to be a beautiful painting, with the mostly green colors and shadows used. As the artist recalls, the green water of the Canal absolutely amazed her, maybe because she expected to see the "traditional" blue with the sparkles of gold, so typical for the sunny Italy.
