ANNA METELYOVA. Artist's Statement
The Ran Collection
Dear viewers,
Welcome to my home page. I am exited about the opportunity to show some of my recent and previous pictures.
Formally educated and trained in one of the most respectful Art Academies in the world, in St. Petersburg, Russia, I consider my painting style as modern realism. That means, I am not particularly concerned with specific scenes and places, but more taken with the idea that my art should represent the "universal" landscape, cityscape, or still life. The same time, accurate reflection of nature is critical for me - simply because I haven't had found any more beauty then the nature itself.
While painting as a full time artist, I want my art to bring joy and relaxation to the life of others. Because the human existence is often too stressful, I see my paintings as a way of soul therapy and mood booster.
