And going a little further he failed on the ground and prayed that, if it were possible, the hour might pass from him. And He said, "Abba, Father, all things are possible to thee; If you are willing, take this cup away from me; nevertheless, let you will be done, not mine." (Luke 22:67). Jesus prayed to be spared from His suffering. His disciples fell asleep, but an angel appeared "to give him strength." (Luke 22:43).
