Our Lady No Faded Flower
The Ran Collection
"Our Lady No Faded Flower", also known as "Our Lady of Perennial Color" is created in 1790. The location of the original from which this actual replica has been done is in the Greek monastery of Meteora. At this icon Mary is holding her son at her left hand and at her right hand is a flower, which symbolically marks the unfading beauty of virginity and chastity.
Christians pray before the icon for retaining on clarity when choosing a future husband or wife. They also address and pray for happy family life. Prayer before the icon helps people in the «invasion of sadness», with the loss of loved ones. This icon painting is known as an image that helps when seeking a remedy for ill. In all these cases, Our Lady helps to gain spiritual strength to overcome trials and calls for the continuation of life. The original icon entered Russia from the Balkans, probably soon after its inception; nevertheless, the exact time of occurrence of icons in Russia and the specific ways yet to find out is not possible.
The hand painted icon is replicated by Katrin Schwarz in 2005, and it is sanctified in the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, (the Church of Resurrection) in Jerusalem, Israel. Church of the Holy Sepulchre is one of the holiest places in the world for Christians, who come here for 2000 years to visit the place where Jesus of Nazareth died, was buried, and rose back.
