This is a raku fired fragment. The design was etched into the clay, fired and glazed, then raku fired. It measures approx. 16" X 7". It is mounted on wooden blocks that allow it to hang on the wall, protruding approx 1 1/2" from the wall surface. It can also be displayed in a plate stand as shown in this picture. It is signed, dated (1996), and titled by the artist on the back of the fragment. Raku fired pieces are delicate, and have an ancient quality to them, so be sure and handle with care.
