Preening Yellow Iris

During Lenten, our yellow iris plant blooms. My mom loves this yellow flower and was the last flower she saw during her last days on this planet.
Before offering this first bloom of yellow iris to my mom (whose anniversary is within two days), I took shots of it using the bottom of a plastic oil pan as background. It was so interesting that the design, the composition, resembles that of an Ikebana or the art of Japanese floral arrangement.
The plant seems to be preening on a sort of "black" mirror" grateful and happy for this wonderful gift--a gift of beauty.
