Violet Skiles paints women in hats and flowing dresses, children in gardens and beach scenes, and mother/child interactions, creating a romantic and impressionist atmosphere of beauty and tranquility. Her love for dogs has inspired her latest passion for dog art. Whether working in traditional oils or watercolor, the subjects she paints radiate with light and color.
Violet's paintings have been commissioned for portraits, prints, greeting cards and CD's, and have been displayed in international juried shows by the Allied Artists of America, the San Diego Watercolor Society, and the American Watercolor Society. Her paintings have been exhibited in galleries and museums in New York City, Japan, Germany, California and the Pacific Northwest, and are in many private and business collections. She is a signature member of the Northwest Watercolor Society.
Violet and her husband Randy live in the Pacific Northwest in a home he designed and built, where she works in her studio ... with two Afghan Hounds always frolicking or napping nearby.
The images in the galleries showcased here are now available for licensing in the gift and publishing industries. |
