Elaine’s “stylized representational” watercolor work is expressed/characterized with dynamically juicy, abstract darks accompanied by delicate attention to detail. Predominantly transparent pigments mingle with occasional wax crayon, gouache or found objects depicting nature’s story or a hidden story. With value exaggeration and color invention Frenett crafts her own expression and emotional response.
What can beautifully be accomplished with the Giclee' Print (which is a jet spray applied to luxurious rag [cotton] paper) IS that it very closely replicates the watercolor originals. This method creates archival works, individually inspected, signed and numbered by the artist. Elaine chooses to limit the editions of her giclees’ (usually to Editions of 100, Special Editions to 20), establishing these works as very unique and rare to the few who purchase. With the options of preferred/custom sizing and a wide span of pricing, the Giclee' makes available to anyone, these rich expressions of nature.
