Yeachin Tsai, born and raised in Taiwan, received her BFA at the National Taiwan Normal University, and her MFA at Brooklyn College of the City University of New York. Deeply influenced by traditional Chinese brush painting and calligraphy, she experiments with materials, colors and forms that characterize modern western painting. She paints mostly on paper and silk, and also experiments with various printmaking techniques to transfer the painterly images onto etching and lithography plates.
Yeachin Tsai’s works have been shown in numerous group and solo exhibitions internationally. She was twice selected for the International Print Center New York/ New Prints Program in 2004, spring and summer. Her work is in private and public collections, including The Art Student League of New York and New York Public Library, and collectors from Europe, United States, and Asia. She lives and works in New York State.
