Editing Your Site/Gallery/Items

What is the difference between a site, a gallery, or an item?
A site is the root of all your content. Your site can contain multiple galleries as well as content such as your biography and contact information. A gallery is what contains your art items. You can have multiple galleries within your one site for categorizing different aspects of your art, such as a gallery for your ocean paintings, and a separate gallery for your photography. An item is one of your actual art pieces contained within your gallery. In short, an item is contained within your gallery and your gallery is contained within your site. You can have multiple items and multiple galleries within your one site.

How do I create and edit my site, gallery, or items?
If it is your first time for creating a gallery on Yessy, you can use the step-by-step tutorial available through 14-day free trial. You can create and edit your site, gallery, or items by using either Easy Edit or Power Edit. In Easy Edit or Power Edit, simply use the left-hand navigation to choose an area you'd like to edit.

What is the difference between Easy Edit and Power Edit?
Easy Edit allows you to only edit the essential information needed for your site. Power Edit contains many optional features that are not necessarily needed, but which can significantly enhance your site. Easy Edit is good for a seller that wants a quick and easy-to-understand way to create a site. Power Edit is best for a seller that wants more features and more control over their site.

What are some of the additional features available with Power Edit?
You can do much more with Power Edit than is possible with Easy Edit. Some of the additional features with Power Edit include the ability to: upload multiple images per item (useful for showing different angles or close-up views of your art); create a biography; add new galleries to your site; create additional sites; password protect a site or gallery; hide specific items or galleries; modify the layout of your gallery; change the order of your items and galleries; reply to comments; and more.

Are there detailed instructions available for Easy Edit or Power Edit?
Yes. Below each form in Easy Edit, simply click the "show instructions" link. The instructions will provide details on each field within the current form.

How do I create my first site?
You can create your first site by using either Easy Edit or Power Edit, or by using the recommended step-by-step tutorial available through 14-day free trial.

How can I get digital images of my art for uploading to the Yessy website?
You can either use a digital camera to take photos of your artwork, or use a scanner to scan your artwork, or use a normal camera and when you have the film developed then ask for the photos to be put on a digital CD for you.

How do I password-protect my site or gallery?
Please refer to Password Protect.

How do I hide a gallery or an item from the public?
You can hide a gallery or an item by using Power Edit. In Power Edit, navigate to the gallery or item you wish to hide from the public. Notice the question 'Hide this gallery/item from the public?'. Select "Yes" and then click the "Save" button. Your gallery or item will no longer appear in the navigation for your site, however, you will still be able to gain access using the complete URL of the gallery or item.

How do I delete my site, gallery, or items?
You can delete your site, gallery, or items by using either Easy Edit or Power Edit. In Easy Edit or Power Edit, navigate to the site, gallery, or item that you'd like to delete and click the "Delete" button that is shown at the bottom of the form (if you are trying to delete an item and you do not see the "Delete" button, select a category first and then the "Delete" button will appear on the next page). After you click the "Delete" button, you will be presented with the question 'Are you sure you want to delete this site/gallery/item?' Choose "Delete" and you are done. Keep in mind that your site, gallery, or item will be hidden from the public immediately and will be completely deleted after 30 days. If needed, you can restore the site, gallery, or item anytime before the 30 days has ended. Also, be aware that if you delete a site then all content in that site will be scheduled for deletion. The same applies if you delete a gallery; all the content in the gallery will be scheduled for deletion as well. After you have finished deleting, then navigate to your site on Yessy and ensure the portion you wanted to delete is no longer visible to the public.

How do I undelete my site, gallery, or items?
Once you choose to delete a site, gallery, or item, you have 30 days in order to change your mind and restore the site, gallery, or item. The process is similiar to deleting, however, you will be choosing the "Undelete" button instead of the "Delete" button.

How do I rearrange the order of the items on my site or the order of my site navigation?
You can rearrange the items on your site or the order of your site navigation by using Power Edit. In Power Edit, navigate to the item you'd like to move. Notice the section entitled 'Move this item to position x of x'. Select the location where you'd like to move the item and then click the "Save" button. If you have multiple galleries, then you'll also have the option of moving the item to a different gallery. This procedure is also similiar for moving galleries and other pages on your site.

I was editing my site and then suddenly I was asked to sign in again; what happened?
